Austin - 1100

Built by BMC and latterly by British Leyland, code named the ADO16, the 1100 was manufactured between 1963 and 1974.

The design we have available is the Austin 1100, however the car had many badge derived variations from Morris, MG, Riley, Wolseley and Vanden Plas.

Designed by Sir Alex Issigonis, the renowned designer of the Mini, the car was available in either 2 or 4 door saloons or in an estate version. Millions were sold throughout the world, and it quickly became an alternative to the already popular Mini, sharing many of the deign features including the transverse engine, which gave the scope to make a much larger car inside also the hydrolastic suspension gave a ride for a small car that was superb for its time.

Available in 2 engine sizes, 1100 or 1300, this was a family car that really set the standards for all future family cars.

Today, there is a fantastic following for these cars, and good ones are always in demand by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
